Let this serve as a reminder to secure your heat lamps properly (maybe even double secure) get a fire extinguisher & fire blanket, and stay safe!! Moving forward we’ve installed a security system that alerts the fire department & unlocks our front door if the fire alarms are set off. Double securing all of the reptile heat lamps, and setting indoor cameras up. I never ever want this to happen again. 3 days, 7 pets, 100 houseplants, and 2,145 miles. 🚛 Some additional tips below ⬇️ 1. Obviously there are risks involved with having pets outside of carriers during transportation. You know your situation and pets best, but carriers are highly recommended. 2. The boxes for the reptiles filmed in this video weren’t the actual boxes we used to travel. They are the same size and everything, but the real boxes had A LOT of air holes punched in the top and sides. 3. You can get a digital thermometer that links with your phone so you can keep it in the box while still making sure your scaley friends are at the right temp. For ours we didn’t let the temp get below 70°. 4. I watered the plants the day before the move (which was there regular watering anyway) and then not again for a week. They all did pretty well for no sunshine for 3 days!
