01:25Here is why we constantly teach little Cashy to "KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL" when she's riding. #teaching This little ripper loves carving down the slopes, but with all that freedom comes responsibility (and a few worried glances from yours truly). One of the biggest things I emphasize is keeping her head on a swivel! It might sound funny, but trust me, it's a snowboarding superpower. Here's why: Imagine you're cruising down the mountain, feeling the wind in your hair. Suddenly, a skier or snowboarder pops out from behind a bend! Yikes! But if you're constantly scanning the terrain ahead, you'll see them coming a mile away. Plenty of time to slow down, adjust your line, and avoid a nasty collision. It's not just about other riders who might be stopped, though. Keeping your head on a swivel lets you see everyone around you – the newbie taking a tumble, the racer zipping past, or even your shred friends who decided to take a different route. The more you know what's happening on the slopes, the better you can react and avoid any unexpected encounters. Think of it like having eyes in the back of your head (without the creepy factor!). It might feel strange at first, but with a little practice, keeping your head on a swivel becomes second nature. You'll be snowboarding with confidence, knowing you can handle whatever the mountain throws your way (and avoiding those frantic mom moments in the process!). #snowboarding #parenting101 #safetyfirst #bogusbasin
01:33Please tell me you hear her little accent #singing Spring shredding is all about slow cat tracks, warm weather, and having the music on so you can sing it loud. Normally I would never ride with the music up. I’m not a huge fan of it and dont want to bother others. However this was a very empty spring day and we needed something to pass the time on this long slow part. So as we slowly made our way to the next run I put on one of Cashy’s favorite Kids Bop songs. I wont lie I didn’t really hear her annunciation in real time but when I showed Whitney, we both were crying laughing #snowboarding #snowboardingisfun #springvibes #lol
02:51There is no better feeling than spring powder and untouched lines on the mountain! #snowboarding Watching little Cashy find this joy has been such a wonderful gift this season. She is finally heavy enough and skilled enough to go anywhere into any conditions and excel. On this particular day they had the front side chairlift closed for the morning (maintenance needed). We got there around 10 when the mountain opens and man was it already so tracked by the time we got on snow. Don’t get me wrong it was still a blast but with this heavy powder those tracked lines turn into sendy jumps, even for us heavier riders so we were all flying all over the place. It was a tough day but so much fun. Then around 1 pm, the front side lift started turning. By this time the early frother’s were gone and the mountain was very quiet. We all rushed to the lift and were going crazy looking at all the untouched front side fluff that was waiting for us. There is something about these moments that truly bring the mountain community together. While we were on the lift all you can do is hoot and holler at all those getting those fresh tracks below because you know the feeling. Then when we were riding you can hear all those people on the lift just cheering you on, it’s very magical! So turn up the sound, be warned Hype Mom is really fired up, and come along with us on this run and feel the stoke and rush of ripping up the untouched fluff on a rare April day! #bogusbasin #springvibes
04:09She was so excited to help me and I was equally excited to teach her how to pump gas for her first time #teaching #daddydaugther #parentingdoneright #toyota
02:01Cashy will no longer be wearing a tutu while she snowboards. Swipe to read the feature article in The Boise Bulletin for more insight into her decision. #snowboarding #aprilfools #lol
Training at home for her spring soccer league with some balance board and header drills #balancedtraining #balanceboard #soccer
02:28We connected with Burton to give their new ARRIVE Program a test and I won’t lie, it’s pretty awesome and here’s why.👇🏼👇🏼 SAVE THIS POST FOR FUTURE REFERENCE The ARRIVE Program is an awesome way for us to test out new boards and gear before we buy. There are so many options out there to choose from and it’s hard to make a call on what to buy through the web. For us, this was the problem solved. For example, I (Nick) had been eyeing the Burton Freethinker in a 154 as I have its sibling the Deepthinker in a 157. However, knowing how the Deepthinker rode I was confident I’d love the twin tip version. So instead I used the ARRIVE Program and ordered a board I have had zero recent experience on. I tested out the Burton Custom 154 and I loved it so much I ended up buying it and I can’t wait for it to show up! Similarly I ordered a Grom 110 for Cashy to test as she was out riding her Chicklet 100 but I felt the 110 may still be too big for her. Boy was I wrong and she rode that board like a champ. So of course I knew I had to upgrade her too. Lastly, Whitney (Hype Mom) has been wanting to try a new twin tip board as her last one she loved in the park but not on steep and fast runs. So I got her the Blossom 152 to test and she LOVED IT! Unfortunately that size was sold out but now she knows what she wants for next season. This program isn’t just for testing purposes. It’s actually meant more for renting gear! They ship anywhere in the US so if you were going on a shred trip and didn’t have the gear or didn’t want to lug it around an airport (trust me it’s not fun), you could have it sent directly to your hotel for your trip! We all know rental boards at the majority of resorts are trash so this gets you riding top quality gear while you're out on holiday shredding the gnar #snowboarding #weridetogether #burtonsnowboards
01:00I’d be lying if I said i wasn’t a little nervous on this one #snowboarding #gofast #speedrun
