House tour: Kitchen If you haven’t seen the before of our kitchen, it was deeply, deeply grey and beige. 🫣 Being a new build the kitchen itself was in good condition but a bit drab, so I painted the cupboards, had a new boiler cupboard installed, along with new spotlights and we replaced the floor for a herringbone pattern vinyl. The tiles were the biggest but most effective investment and I’m so glad we went for them, they make me smile every day! 💗 FAQs I painted the cupboards with Evening Blue and Champagne Pink by @makeitrustoleum Wallpaper is by @lust.home Our tiles are from @metrotilesuk - we initially spoke to a tiler who told us they were bathroom tiles and just “wouldn’t work” in a kitchen. In reality, he didn’t want to do the job as the pattern is a bit of a faff around sockets etc. If someone tries to tell you your idea won’t work - they aren’t the right person for the job. Main Bedroom 🛌 the next room to show you in my house tour, is the Main Bedroom, which is on the top floor of our three-floor townhouse. Before we bought this house, we rented a small two-bed which had a bedroom so small that we couldn’t fit two bedside tables or a wardrobe in it. The second bedroom was just for our clothes 😂 so it’s probably no surprise to you that I cried with overwhelm when we walked into the show home of our house and saw this room! IMAGINE having space where you could walk around both sides of the bed, a DRESSING TABLE and clothes in the same room? It was sheer luxury, and even 9 years on, I honestly will never take this room for granted. 🥰 FAQs 🛌 We have a super king bed in this room which is from @swyft_home. 👗 Our wardrobes were custom built by a local MDF carpentry company (@thelocalwardrobeco if you’re local to Gloucestershire) it worked out so much cheaper than high street wardrobe companies and I painted them to match the room 🎨 The sloped ceiling is painted the same colour as the majority of the walls to give the impression of more height. The colours are Chapel Stone by @johnstonespaint, Bancha by @farrowandball and near my dressing table Vardo by F&B. Hallway Tour 🩷 I’ve had a lot of new faces join lately so thought I’d reintroduce each of the spaces in our home so you can swipe through the angles! The hallway was by far my biggest project to date. It was three floors, two sets of stairs and involved some really treacherous ceiling painting on a ladder 😬 but it’s definitely one of my favourite makeovers, as it makes me smile every time I come home! Some FAQs 🖼️ The gallery wall is mostly hung with command strips for ease, but big, special or heavy art gets hung with proper fixings. 👸🏼 My Disney princess portrait art is a poster from Disney World I bought back in 2012 and brought it home. It cost more to get it professionally framed back here than it did to buy 😅 (but worth it 🤭) 🎨 We are a semi detached home with no windows leading into the hall, so it’s always been very dark. We combatted this with having spotlights installed, and used mirrors on each floor (and a light wall colour) to help bounce the little light we do have, around the space. 🖌️ The wall colour is Elbow Beach, the door, units and stairs are Little Light, Bannisters are natural charcoal - all by Rustoleum.
