Let’s chat… food morality I used to fear food. I was so convinced that there were good foods and bad foods. The truth is, food is fuel. Allows you to survive and perform. It allows you to socialize and spend time with your family. Stop demonizing foods and start using it as your energy source. No one is blind to the fact that there are certain foods that have higher nutritional value than others. But in order to maintain a healthy and peaceful relationship with food you have to be aware you’re allowed to have all food groups. Batch prepping comes in handy when you’re super sick of eating the same things throughout the week but you only wanna cook minimal ingredients! You can make so many different meals out of a few main staples! This week I made chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, steak seasoning and Japanese bbq that I get from Costco. I also made roasted potatoes with the same seasonings and zucchini. Now that the weather is getting nicer take advantage of the grill! I remember fearing majority of the foods I picked up today because someone told me BS about it being “bad” for you or can cause “xyz” and truthfully once I removed that mentality and stopped listening to the craziness, not only my relationship with food became so much better but I naturally gravitated towards foods that nourished my body more. 01:28Here’s a perfect example of me honoring my hunger levels. This day I was extremely hungry. It’s not uncommon for this to occur if I’m in my luteal phase or I’m burning more energy with workouts, or in this case, running a 5k. For me, I think I got lucky and it was both scenarios. I listened to my body and fueled it with food. I stopped eating once I was full. So sure this may seem like a lot of food to some, it’s what I needed this day. 01:24Always hesitant posting this type of content because ever since leaving my 9-5 I feel super guilty. Guilty that I get to choose my own hours of work. That I probably have a little more free time than the average human. I truly never want to get to a point of being unrelatable. But this is my life now. I am so blessed to have some help with Connor throughout the week. 15-20 hours a week saves me and I’m able to get so much work done in that time. This day I unfortunately got a flat tire and had to work from the car dealership all day. My life can be hectic and it’s never really consistent every single day but being a business owner is hard. Being a full time mom is hard. I never talk about those struggles because again, I’m incredibly grateful for this life that I live. And I wouldn’t be here without you guys. This transition occurred within the last two years and adjusting to it is still an ongoing battle. Just two years ago I was in office Monday through Friday and working weekends on top of that.
