It was nearly 100 miles of no resources. We had pre buried food and water along our route so that we wouldn’t end up in a sticky situation. Even with that preparation we still barely had enough water. Vern will go down in history! We have @chuck.cassady to thank for our subfloor, I don’t even know what we did before 🤣 Here’s the lineup: Chassis saver painted on our bare metal, one gallon gave us two coats on our 5 window bus Foamular 2inch foam board insulation (4 boards total) OSB Avantech tongue and groove (3 boards total) Loctite PL 3x (6 tubes) Kilz Mold & Mildew paint (1 gallon and we have leftover for other wood in the bus) Next up, for real this time, the gaping hole in our roof! #skoolie #skooliebuild #diy #diybuild #vanconversion #busconversion #subfloor

We had a casualty 🩸 but it waited until the end 🤣 Butternut Squash Risotto by @minimalistbaker one of our new favorites !! You can find the recipe (ingredient list) and complete cooking instructions on @minimalistbaker website by typing in “butternut squash risotto” It’s really pretty easy to make just takes a bit to stand and stir the broth into the rice. It tastes like a fancy meal though and is so filling it’s perfect on the days you want a big meal out to eat. Make it yourself! I use the dairy free Parmesan from @traderjoes and Sauvignon Blanc for the white wine (just a cheap bottle from Costco because I’m not a white wine girly) Hope this brings a little entertainment to your day 🤩 Also add plant based or not plant based sausage for an extra zing !! We didn’t have pine nuts or sage on the top and it still tasted delicious! We are 45 days into our bus build and here’s what’s been going down lately!!! As with anything, getting things done RIGHT takes more time than you’d expect. Especially when you use 100% silicone on your ENTIRE roof and need to remove it before painting 😂🤪 All jokes aside, it feels good to be making these minor yet major adjustments. The bus already feels more like our home than it did before and we know it’s going to take us on way more epic adventures. Next up, hopefully, the roof!
