Bento with Spicy Korean Fried Chicken. Sometimes you just have cravings for noodles, chicken and Tteobokki. Ingredients 3 skinless chicken thighs 1 tsp soy sauce 1 tsp black pepper 1 egg 1 tsp garlic powder Batter 2/3 cups potato starch 1/4 cup cornstarch 1 tsp salt 1 tsp black pepper Sauce 2 tbsp gochujang 2 tbsp gochugaru 1/3 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup honey 1/4 cup rice syrup 1 tsp sesame oil 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar Oil for frying Sesame seeds and dried parsley Directions 1. Cut the chicken thighs into 2 inch pieces and marinade them with the seasoning above for 15-20 minutes. 2. Prepare your batter by mixing the potato starch and cornstarch with salt and pepper. Coat the pieces well and let chicken rest to form a crust. 3. Heat the oil on medium. You can test if the oil is ready by inserting a chopstick into the pot. ***If it bubbles around the chopstick it is ready. ** 4. Cook your chicken pieces 5-7 pieces at a time. Do not crowd the frying pot or it will be soggy. Continue until you finish. Do a second fry once done for 3-4 minutes on medium high heat. Set aside to drain the oil. 5. Prepare your sauce by mixing everything together in a bowl. Then add it to a pan on low heat. Once the sauce begins to loosen add the chicken and toss.
