info
The rope out stage of a tornado is usually the final, dramatic act. As the tornado vortex weakens, it becomes long and narrow, resembling a rope dangling from the sky. This slender funnel often twists and contorts erratically. Though visually striking, rope tornadoes are *typically* less intense than their wider counterparts. The rope out usually lasts briefly before the tornado dissipates completely, signaling the twister's end. On this day (5.16.17) this clip is the end stages of a tornado that formed SW of McLean, TX just off the caprock. #weather #nature #science #texas #tornado
