Guilt and self-critcism are not neccessary for us to learn and grow, in fact they slow and stunt our learning experience because it creates unnecessary self-sabotage through damaging our self-esteem and self-image. When we carry guilt we accidently make more negative choices because our subconscious is trying to validate our negative perception of ourselves. Such as getting to think or say things like “see I’m such an idiot” or “I can never do anything right.” It is all methods of our wound to perpetuate itself through guilt and self-critcism. To heal we must love ourselves enough to let the lesson be enough, guilt serves absolutely no purpose. Learning from our consequences is all that is required. When we just let the lesson be enough we maintain a positive self-image and are far more likely to make the higher choice in the future than if we maintain guilt.
