The other week Magnus traveled with me to Florida. Because he is my task trained service dog, he is allowed to fly with me in the main cabin. When going through airport security, TSA makes me take off all of Magnus’ “gear” because his collar and leash have metal on them that will set off the alarms. Normally, this is not an issue but this time around there was a problem. After we cane through and I went to collect my belongings from the conveyor bejlt, Magnus’ collar wasn’t there. Somehow it got snagged while going through the X-ray machine and TSA eventually located it. However… the fact that that I trusted Magnus while being completely untethered and loose in a busy airport was key. He behaved exactly the way he was supposed to; locked on me with laser focused, regardless of whether or not I had him on a leash.
