Every month I get closer to the 12 month mark without my mom hurts a little bit different and a little bit more in some ways because this reality sets in more. I wrote this to remind myself even though it does still hurt, I do have more moments in my days than in the beginning where I smile or allow life to distract me from the constant despair. If you are missing someone too, I am sitting with you. I acknowledge your valid feelings. I am proud of you because I know it is not easy to keep going without someone who always kept you going.
