🍡 Who is down to try this?! It’s my favorite mochi pairing because it’s not too sweet, and I love tasting the savory notes Zunda mochi is a specialty in Sendai, Japan. It’s sweetened and crushed edamame paste, which is typically slathered onto mochi. It’s really difficult to find this outside of Sendai, so I tried to eat as much of it as I could in our <24 hour bullet train layover in the city. Kikusuian in Sendai Station has a variety of Zunda desserts, like Zunda milkshake, cakes, soft serve, and more! But my absolute favorite is the “Kikufuku”, which has zunda and cream encased in silky mochi. Gojo Satoru bought this in @『呪術廻戦』アニメ公式 Season 1, and I knew Doug and I had to go to Sendai to try it. Yes, the reason why we went to Sendai last year (and came back this year) was because an anime character said he liked Kikufuku mochi #edamame #mochi #japanesefood #japanesedessert #kikufuku #zunda #daifuku #sendai #sendaifood #japanfood #tokyofood
