Run pronghorn run 🚁🏃‍♀️!! The Oklahoma Pronghorn Project is underway with adult capture for 2024. Here, a capture crew of biologists use helicopter NET-gunning to capture an adult female. She will be given a checkup, and a tracking collar before release. Project objectives will assist the ODWC with management decisions for this important species. Biologists are having a great capture season so far, with assistance from our collaborators at Oklahoma State University, The Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute, and East Central University. 🚁 All field techniques conducted under appropriate research and animal handling permits.
