Everything I drank in Ghana, and more Please try this at your own risk 😜 Asaana- malted fermented corn drink, like the Ghanaian version of Coca Cola. It gets its colour from caramel made with sugar. We got to try this one at Jamestown but the vendor is actually based in Accra new town Zomkom - raw millet drink. Everyone you ask will make theirs different, some add rice and others make it with just millet. Homemade will use more spices than outside but ginger is usually present. Samia/Tamarind drink - this is made with tamarind and ginger Palm Wine - I have multiple videos on palm wine but it is made from the sap of the oil palm. We make local alcohol from it, everyone has its own name for it Cacao fruit juice - juice made from the cacao fruit pulp, it tastes nothing like chocolate (which is made from the seeds of the fruit) but rather a nice tropical fruit Sobolo - spiced hibiscus drink made with ginger and local spices, again everyone has their own variation Zom - lightly roasted millet with Shea butter. Some make it with tamarind and pepper too pito - malted sorghum beer what didn’t make it to the video Baobab juice- I enjoyed a few bottles of fresh baobab juice in Ghana Sorghum Water - I tried this at the Bolga market, make with red millet and ginger. The same drinks look different depending on where you are in the country or whether it is sold or homemade #drinks #localdrinks #hibiscustea #tamarind #millet #ghanaiandrinks #ghanaianfood #westafricanfood #ghana #fyp
