One minute drum lesson: Forty Six & 2 by Tool. Doing this purely for fun. Tool / Danny Carey were big inspirations for me early in my playing and Imega internalized these songs and grooves. I‘ve always loved this particular drum beat and its not insanely difficult. The core groove is a 1 measure phrase that repeats. The first half of the bar is straight forward with the bass drum on beats 1 and &of1, and snare on beat 2. The hi-hat lifts fall on &of1 / &of2. The 2nd half of the phrase is a bit more tricky but not insanely complicated. The hi hats are 3 dotted 8th notes starting on the eof3. The kick drum falls on beat 3 / &of3 / eof4 while the snare drum falls on uof3 / &of4.
