“you will walk the camino the rest of your life” is what my grandfather said to me on my completion of the Camino Frances. 30 days, 779.5km from France down across Northern Spain and ending at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. He makes a good point. This was the craziest and most surreal experience of my life, but also the most beautiful, truly real and vulnerable experience I’ve ever had. I’m tremendously grateful for it. Especially for those who I was blessed to share my pilgrimage with. It’s shaped my life in numerous ways and still continues to do so - it has added value to what is truly important and it has shown me the beauty this life has to offer. It was tough, but these blessings don’t come for free, I had to earn them. Endurance of suffering led to beautiful enlightenment. Everyone always asks how I felt when I finally knelt at the steps of the cathedral. They expect me to try and describe the most beautiful feeling of accomplishment and bliss imaginable - yet I felt nothing. A reminder that it’s not the destination, it’s the journey that matters. Have a blessed day. . . . . . #travel #nature #travelphotography #photography #love #photooftheday #instagood #travelgram #picoftheday #instagram #beautiful #photo #wanderlust #naturephotography #camino #caminodesantiago #caminofrances #caminoportugues #camiño #caminosantiago #caminofrancés
