Here's why 👇 This season, our nearly 200 rescued animals in CA, TN, and MO need: -Hoof trims for all cows, pigs, and horses -Dental exams and treatments for horses -Horse stall mats to protect their hooves and joints -Lab tests for parasite detection -Gentle shearing and haircuts for the sheep and llamas to keep them cool -Protective gear such as fly masks and fly spray -3 truckloads of fresh hay for each location to sustain our animals throughout the spring months -Cooling sand bedding to replace warm winter straw -Fresh fruit and veggies -And more! These costs add up across all three locations—and they're continuing to rise—but as a nonprofit farm animal sanctuary, we make a promise to every animal we rescue that they'll live the best lives after surviving trauma, abuse, and heartbreak. Lolli got her new prosthetics! Thanks to your support, she’s now learning to use them and taking steps into her new life. In case you missed it, Lolli's legs have been at risk of atrophying as an adult. When we rescued her as a tiny baby, we set her up with her first pair of prosthetics and when she outgrew those, a wheelchair, along with necessary therapies to help her thrive. Now that she’s fully grown, with functioning leg muscles, it’s time to get circulation going better in her back legs. She's been receiving increased physical therapies, acupuncture, and more, and now she has her shiny new prosthetics! #animalrescue #goattok

Rescued from a backyard butcher, where the animals were living in horrific conditions, sweet Athena is now celebrating 12 years in sanctuary at The Gentle Barn CA. Athena and dozens of other cows, horses, sheep, and goats were brought to us by local animal control after the butcher was shut down. Athena was sick, riddled with parasites, covered in scars, and terrified of humans. Once her body recovered, she learned not only that she was safe, but also how to be an amazing cow ambassador.
