Reflecting on my hijab journey video from last year, it's incredible how the photos I once considered my "after" are now my "before." I made a similar video back then, and the progress is humbling. Allahamdulilah. Thanks to Allah, I'm using those images as a stepping stone for my current transformation. Embracing my true self without makeup and confidently wearing a hijab has been enlightening. There was a time when I didn't realize the extent of my insecurities, especially without makeup. There was a time I wouldn't step out of my house unless I had a full face of makeup. As I navigate this ongoing journey, I acknowledge lingering insecurities, but each day brings me closer to embracing my authentic self. Inshallah, post-Ramadan, I aspire to free myself from the mask of makeup, choosing self-love over societal expectations. The empowerment from observing hijab in its true essence is unparalleled, and knowing Allah SWT is pleased with me fuels my motivation. To my sisters struggling with makeup and hijab, a piece of advice: take a break from social media. Constant comparison to online images deepen insecurities. Grasp the true meaning of hijab, by not consuming anything that undermines it and you'll naturally form a deeper connection with it. It is better to invest in quality skincare, fostering comfort in your own skin. Remember, Allah SWT crafted you flawlessly. Resist the allure of unattainable Western beauty standards. May Allah SWT ease the journey for myself and all of my sisters. 🌙💖 #muslim #hijabi #modestfashion
