For you guess this cocktail from my stories? Some of you were close (and @Chris guessed it in seconds) but this is the 20th Century cocktail I hadn’t had one either but let me tell you, I’m glad I changed that. This is a gin based cocktail (had lots of gin requests this week), a riff off the Corpse Reviver No. 2 and it is named after the train that took you from New York to Chicago. It’s also my new welcome guest cocktail, so so good. Here’s how to make it at home: First chill a martini glass or Nick and Nora glass Then add to your cocktail shaker: 1.5 oz gin (I used @fourpillarsgin ) 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice 1/2 oz white creme de cacao 1/2 oz traditionally Lillet Blanc, I opted for @italicusrdb Add ice and shake. If I were dancing in the desert at @coachella I’d want to be drinking this, TEQUILA MOCKINGBIRD Think of this as your new favorite spicy margarita! this recipe is actually a slight riff from @seiderhouse & let me tell you both SLAP Here’s how to make it at home 2 oz watermelon juice, fresh is best (can also sub for any melon) 2 oz tequila, or mezcal 3/4 oz lime juice 3/4 oz agave syrup 1-2 jalapeño slices 1-2 basil leaves Add to a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.
