Taking the time out to teach our children isnimportant for building trust and respect. When they see our mastery over a skill and we pass it down to them, they learn to trust us. They learn respect for what we are teaching them on a regular basis. This respect trickles into every aspect of our relationships with them. You can imagine just how important your childs respect is. Not to mention the admiration they gain for you. Teaching my boys how to swim and watching them master the skill so quickly was such a joyus experience and memory.
