Nobody said any of this was easy but it’s not impossible either ! Im 23 & i started doing cakes when i was 19 , but been doing cupcakes since i was 15 . Who knew i would be doing ALL these cakes - i told myself i would never do cakes and only do cupcakes . Now look at me 😭 I work my regular job sometimes from 4am -12:30pm or mostly from 6am - 2pm then i get home and i keep working , sometimes i forget about myself and that’s NOT GOOD but i LOVE what i do . I’m waiting til i get as stable as i can be to just go full time on my business from home , but for right now i continue to just do both until I feel like im ready . All i can say is if you hav es passion for something , go for it . WHY I AM NO LONGER OFFERING BURN AWAY CAKES 🚫⬇️ Burn cakes are beautiful and fun , but i’ve noticed a few things about making them . Burn cakes requires two different sheets of paper (if revealing another pic etc) 1. Icing sheet at the bottom (picture being revealed or text) 2. Wafer paper at the top which is flammable (gets lit with lighter) The wafer paper at the top that gets burned is a VERY delicate paper .. So when us bakers make our cakes we refrigerate it , but you have to make sure cake is covered so it doesn’t capture so much moisture on the wafer paper .. If the wafer paper gets too much moisture , when you take the cake out the fridge the top wafer paper will begin to look wrinkled & will sink in the middle when taken out of the fridge ( I do not like this look - especially when you’re giving the cake to the customer and they see a wrinkly sheet that’s caved in ) Will it burn ? Yes , or maybe not . It’s a hit or miss with the burn cakes . If the wafer paper captures too much moisture , the moisture will cause the cake not to light up . Or you may be lucky and it will burn - you never know 🤷🏽‍♀️ Why does the one in the video look so good then ? This was a cake i made for myself , to announce to you guys that i am expecting 🤰🏽💗 Lol , so this cake was not put into the fridge at all , i burned it right away . Does it burn that fast ? No , this video is like 2.5x speed lol , it takes about 50sec - 1min or maybe 1min a few seconds to completely burn , these videos are just sped up because i’m not gonna have y’all here for 55 seconds watching the cake burn 🤣 I’m sure many bakers have their own ways of dealing with the burn cake , but this is just a service i will not be offering anymore 💗 #burnawaycake #heartcakes #burncake #itskaystreats #miamicakes #browardcakes #noburncakes #burncakes
