Cat Fact of the Day (More info below about pet travel): In some countries, you can travel with your cat or dog in the cabin! However, owners must ensure that they meet the airline or country’s requirements on pet travel. For instance, most airlines have an additional pet carry on fee that owners must pay to travel with their pet in a cabin. It can cost anywhere from $100-$200 (or more!) Other requirements and restrictions include: Vaccinations, carrier size and functionality, age, weight, seating area, breed, and/or fight duration. These requirements will vary depending on the airline or country that you are leaving/arriving in. Be sure to do your research before you decide to travel with your pet. This is not to be confused with service animals!! Some countries, cities, or states will NOT allow you to travel with your pet in the cabin, mainly because of biosecurity reasons or concerns about rabies. Australia, Barbados, Brazil, Colombia, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Iceland, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom, and United Arab Emirates either do not allow pets to travel in the cabin, require pets to be cargo, OR ban pet travel altogether. Video is from Douyin user 猪儿. who primarily posts content of their cat. 猪儿 lives in Jiangsu, a coastal city in China. It’s unclear if the cat in this video is their cat, but 猪儿 reported that it was the cat’s first time on the plane and joked that the cat was curious. China’s airlines allow pet travel in the cabin, which curious netizens looked up to confirm after watching the viral video. News reporters followed up and confirmed that the cat was legally on the plane, but left its seat. Cats (and dogs) are supposed to stay in their carriers under or near their owner’s designated seat. #cats #cat #cattok #catsoftiktok #catfacts #funfacts #learnontiktok #catperson #catlady #cutecat #funnycats #funnycat #cutecat #meow
