I often get asked how I continue to live my life while dealing with mental health issues. It’s not easy I’ll tell you that but one thing that’s really helped me is giving myself the permission to feel. On the days I feel really anxious before going out I cry and I let the people around me know that I feel anxious about going. It allows me to get it out of my system rather than holding it in. I’m able to talk through my feelings and release them in a healthy way so I can actually enjoy myself when I get there. And worst case scenario if that doesn’t work then I just cancel my plans. I no longer feel guilty about cancelling cause it’s important for me to take care of my health first.
