How to create a beautiful flower from fabric scraps! Step 1: Cut 2” wide strips of scrap fabric, any length. Step 2: Sew the strips right sides together to create a 40” long strip. Step 3: Hem the raw edges with a rolled hem or zigzag stitch (optional). Step 4: With a needle and thread gather the fabric with a running stitch, as you gather go in a circular motion Step 5: Secure the gathered edges with hand tacking at the back of the flower. Step 6: Create a cascade tail by cutting out 2” wide circles, cutting one side open, hemming, and sewing to the back of the flower. To make a smaller/larger flower, simply adjust the width of the fabric strips and the length of the gathered circle. Try using: * Smaller flower 1” wide fabric strips * A shorter gathered circle, like 30” in length This will result in a smaller, more delicate flower. * Larger Flower 3” wide fabric strips * A larger gathered circle, like 50” in length This will result in a larger, fuller flower. Remember, feel free to experiment and adjust the sizes. Enjoy your beautiful fabric flower!” #fabricflowers #sewingtutorial #fabricscraps #sewingtok
