Story behind the song: ✝️ In the book of Judges, God charged Gideon with leading His underequipped army to defeat the Army of Midian. When the Gideon’s men arrived to find the Midianites camping in a valley, God told them to surround the camp, and throw their lanterns on the ground while sounding their trumpets. This set a fire surrounding the camp, and the Midianites, thinking they were surrounded by a vastly greater army, began to panic and kiII themselves in an attempt to escape a more painful defeat. In “Battle Cry,” this victory is used to illustrate the victory Christ has over evil to this day.
