I know it is very painful to hear that and quite frustrating because how can you be overqualified for a job I mean you're either qualified or you aren't right? but the reality is that the more qualified you get the less of a match you can be for some jobs. and unfortunately a lot of people go into interviews and oversell themselves. they position themselves as a Jack or Jill of all trades and try to explain that they can do absolutely everything. unfortunately, that can come across as a narcissistic or desperate. you have to think about the audience.
