Starting a nursing program this fall?! Congratulations, future nurse! 🙂 Leading up to your nursing school beginning can be exciting, nerve racking, and all the feelings in between. But one thing is for certain: being prepared & organized is how you’ll start on the right track, trust me. Here are some tips for you as you prepare this summer: 💊Learn suffixes and prefixes for generic names of common medications. Becoming familiar with these beforehand will help you link medications to conditions, especially if you’re in an accelerated program! 💬Review and learn medical terminology. This is a HUGE help. Nursing school moves quickly, so having that core knowledge of terminology and clinical vocabulary will help you as you navigate through new content, powerpoints, and textbook education 💻Start working through NCLEX-style practice questions. You might be thinking “WHAT? Already?!” The sooner you familiarize yourself with the way questions are asked, worded, and answered, the more comfortable you will be, come exam time. NCLEX-style questions aren’t just used on the NCLEX, they’re utilized on your nursing school exams to prepare you. So, familiarize yourself with some fundamentals questions and rationales, learn about wording of questions, and take practice quizzes as you await the semester start! 💧Review & learn Fluid & Electrolytes! Believe it or not, this topic connects with SO many others, and it will be a core concept throughout fundamentals, Med-Surg, clinicals, and as a practicing nurse. Learn your electrolytes, their purpose in the human body, expected lab values, and elevated or decreased levels, plus what they mean. It might sound confusing at first, but learning about fluid volume and how electrolyte levels respond will begin to make sense, and once they do, you’ve already started tackling a huge topic that you’ll face very soon. Get ahead with your learning and be proactive. It DOES pay off! 🙂 When does your semester begin?! #RN #BSN #completenursingschoolbundle #nursingnotes #nursing #nursesnotes #nurseinthemaking #nursingschool #nursingstudent #nursingresources #medsurg #studentnurse #pharmacology #nursingfundamentals #nursingprogram #studyhelpfornurses #NC
