I can't express how much comments like this anger me. It's easy to say "ignore it," but when your prosthetic videos go viral, there's an overwhelming amount to ignore when I'm just one person. When it first happened, it really impacted me in a negative way. Honestly, it still kind of does, but I've done a good job of pushing past it. I'm calling out, to set an example because this needs to be spoken about. This behavior is unacceptable, regardless if it's the internet. How would you feel if someone said that to your daughter? Hopefully, you will take this and think twice before saying something like this to another woman. I understand that hate and inappropriate comments come in droves with viral videos, but why? It's so sad that it does. I literally thicken my skin mentally to prepare myself when I notice a video going viral. Seeing something for the first time or that is out of your norm does not mean that you can cross someone’s boundary and ask personal questions about their medical history to sedate your curiosity. As adults, we can rely on our self control and truly analyze how our actions could affect someone. Why is asking rude? - you don’t know this person to ask them such a intimate question - It’s considered intimate for many reasons that could involve trauma, the unknown factor of when the disability occurred or the person’s feelings towards their disability - You don’t know the after affects that could happen om the person with the disability Why are all response reactions valid? I’ve done a few videos like this in the past but the last time was a few years ago since I love wearing tips!! Currently, I’m the phase where I’m allowing my nails to breathe so might as well do this video again! There’s always this huge debate regarding whether or not an amputee should be able to get percentage off on services when it comes to a manicure. As I explain in the video, I only go to salons that allow me to do the 50% off because I believe that’s what’s fair since only half the service is being provided including supplies and time on five fingers. Also, Salons have even offered to do a 18% or 10% which I still don’t accept as fair so I still look for a different salon when that happens. ❤️ : I always have this conversation before services are provided. Maybe you don’t agree but I’m not going to stop doing what I believe is fair for me.
