My monthly glow up video, sorry to everyone whos been following me for a while and has seen all too many of these lol. I love to reflect on my growth and see how far I’ve come and I hope it could inspire atleast someone who has a similar story to me. In highschool, male validation was so important to me. I found that when I bleached my hair blonde and dressed like my peers, I was accepted and liked in school.. as a neurodivergent young gal who was always kind of the odd one out, having my appearance be widely accepted and celebrated was a huge win and made moving through school a lot easier for me. In 2017 I started expiriementing with style and realized I wasn’t dressing and presenting as the person I felt inside. My long blonde hair for me felt like a sort of “likeability” cloak. Cutting my hair short, dying it dark and beginning to buy clothes that actually made me feel excited and comfortable in myself helped me to get in touch with my personal essence and style. Molding yourself to fit into a box is exhausting and I feel for everyone who is struggling to show up in the way they truly want. I’m really happy I was able to finally break out of it and start a journey of experimentation and fun, with the main person I want to impress being me. #blondetobrunette #shorthairstyles #vintagefashion #malegazevsfemalegaze #greenscreen
