A detailed breakdown of everywhere Blue Nose Audio went wrong with this statement and what they should have said instead. What happened? A significant number of people spent the last week sharing their negativite experiences working with Joe Arden and/or his company, Blue Nose Audio, on an anonymous forum. The legal veracity of these allegations has not been confirmed, and to my knowledge, no one had stepped forward publicly (in a non-anonymous fashion). Joe Arden is a pseudonym used by James Patrick Cronin for his work narrating romance novels, particularly spicy novels, to separate mature content from his other voice acting work. If you’ve heard his voice on an audiobook owned by one of the Big Five publishers, he is likely billed under his real or another alt name. There’s a reason why, within the comms community, people who specialize in crisis PR are referred to as “fire proofed” — because they’ve guided their clients through the firestorm and made it out the other side. This is what you get when you put one person’s ego over the longevity of a business. It jeopardizes the livelihood of every other person who works there. Regardless of if the allegations are false, Blue Nose should have followed the tried and true method of distancing themselves & taking immediate action. #joearden #booktok #audiobooks #audiobooknarrator #womensupportingwomen #crisiscommunication
