We believe all parrots, even parrotlets, thrive on constant companionship (human, bird or both). Wolfie was a Covid baby, but when life started to get busier for us, we thought long and hard about the life we wanted for Wolfie. As we went back to non-lockdown work and life, we knew we couldn’t always be at home. Adopting Sharky was the best decision we made for Wolfie. The two boys now always have each other even when humans can’t be around. Wolfie may not always admit it, but he’s happier with Sharky by his side 😂 For those thinking about getting their solo bird a companion, introducing a new bird to the family takes effort and conditioning but it’s definitely worth it when it’s done right. (It helped that Sharky joined us as a young one too). (I know a lot of online literature suggests parrotlets are best kept as solo birds, but we’ve seen so many happy pairs living together. Wolfie and Sharky are both boys yet they even share the same sleeping cage together. We’ve even seen 4 live harmoniously in one cage. So it can be done, and we really believe it is better for the parrots unless there is a regular human companion at home) 😊 #twoisbetterthanone #loveconquersall #thedodo #pets #parrot #birdsoftiktok
