Its been a year. Today, Jiovanni randomly started saying “my daddy did that (lifting up his shirt & showing off his scars), my daddy burned me” this was completely out of the blue. it breaks my heart hearing him open up & talk about it. my son is SO smart & he still remembers what happened but cannot put the pieces together enough to explain what exactly happened to him. there’s not a day that goes by that i don’t have flashbacks of that day. i just pray he isn’t having them too.
