The word ‘MANY’ stood out to me in the passage, ‘Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ - Matthew 7:22-23. MANY individuals are engaged in works bearing the facade of service to God, when, in fact, these efforts are rooted in SELF-service! In the scripture, they performed all those deeds without having any true intimacy with Jesus. So it wasn’t about glorifying Him, but about self. In our walk with God, it is important to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit to discern whether our acts are genuinely in service to God or veiled attempts at serving ourselves. Jesus took our place in Death, so that we might take His place in Life. He took our place of Sin, and we took His place in Righteousness. Because of this sacrifice, we have no life to live but His Life. Accepting this Life is Righteousness. Living this Life is Holiness. Now, Grace is God’s partnership with us to overcome our weaknesses, to empower us, and enable us to do His will.
