This is my recipe to combat getting poorly in winter (something that, when you live on a boat and don’t have access to central heating efc can make life suddenly extremely difficult). Kitchen witchery and ritual (especially in food) some something that is incredibly sacred to me (and hopefully you’ll be seeing a lot more of it from me in the coming months). Many of the ingredients that I choose and the way I make my recipes are based not just on the taste and nutrient profile of the ingredients - but also their magical properties. This adds daily ritual into my practise and puts a little magic into the mundane - let me know what you think!✨ 2 bulbs of garlic Lashings of olive oil (serious lashings) 3 large shallots 3 carrots (2 diced and one chopped into circles/chunks) 3 large mushrooms, hand torn not cut Salt + black pepper A few squirts of Maggi seasoning 3 bay leaves 2 TBSP of tahini 1 stock cube 900ml of water (depending on how thick you like your soup) 1 cup of lentils 1 tsp of food grade dragons blood powder The juice of 3 lemons Roast your garlic bulbs in a healthy dose of good olive oil. Take a large pot and add oil to the base. Sautee the shallots, carrots, mushrooms and add all the seasonings. Stir in your tahini (it’ll coat everything and make a thick paste that you will then loosen with the water). Add you stock and lentils, the juice of the lemons. Pour the hot garlic oil over the soup. Add the garlic cloves. Stir and serve with crusty bread in a cosy setting. #kitchenwitch #garlicsoup #ritual #witchcraft
