Something that rarely gets talked about, but is incredibly important, is the idea of validation: when your partner is going through something, when they’re anxious, when they’re confused – validate. That doesn’t mean you have to agree with them, it doesn’t mean you have to understand what they’re going through – it simply means you’re there for them and you’re willing to walk with them as they find their footing. Your job is not to fix. It’s not your responsibility to heal someone you love.
