a very special pre-order of the “anne” pinafore starts sunday 3/17 at 1 pm pst !! tomorrow !! 🍓 this month i am restocking, for pre-order, only four dresses in the extraordinary reproduction linen gingham the dress was first released in. this darling dress takes direct inspiration from the pinafores and aprons that were worn by young women in the early 1900s. it’s a near copy of my favorite extant pinafore dresses, and features extra extra full ruffles on the shoulders and around the hem. it also has very low cut under-arms which allow for plenty of range of movement, but also all sorts of layering from fine lacey blouses like those worn in the 1900s, or big bulky sweaters so it can be worn through all seasons ! the dress is available currently in bust sizes 32-62, but can be made in any size requested! each dress is made to order and adaptions like, length and tag placement (for sensory comfort) can be made very easily. the new lengths, plus the original length, measure as follows from the top of the shoulder- mini- 30” knee- 40” midi- 50” these lengths can be adapted to assure they are proportional to your measurements, alongside your order. i swear i have been looking at photos of sweet edwardian girls with bows so big you can see them from the front of their heads for years now- but only now realized i needed a huge stiff ribbon for it! and i completely forgot i had one tucked away in all my boxes among old beads and photo pins. this outfit made me feel like a precocious school child and i am happy for it. wish i could have paired it with some scrapped knees ! thank you to my angel @Vogue for always showing up to do incredible work with me ! my beautiful blouse is from three of wands vintage ! #historicalfashion #annewithane #handmade
