Finally got to milling this last log and moving everything out. Over 3 tons of wood! Looking forward to making some large tables out of these. Middle sections are very clear straight grain with beautiful medullary rays on the quarter sawn sections.

I got a chainsaw mill! Too much fun…We had a huge storm near here and lost a lot trees. Couldn’t afford to invest in a bandsaw mill yet, but I’ll use this to cut up unique pieces that seem worth it. This is an upper section of a black oak,(similar grain to red oak) 114 years old. This is the smaller of the two 14 foot long sections we cut.
