I've always put a lot of emphasis on the "One Character At A Time" mentality, and I think it's because inherently I believe that your characters are the person you needed when you play them. Tirion, The Lightbringer: My first LARP character, was a strong willed Paladin with an inherent sense of duty, I was 17 at the time and I needed direction and purpose. Jäger, The Huntsman: MY second character, was initially a selfish and stubborn warrior, who grew into a selfless defender of the people, his last deed was to lay down his life in service of others. I was 20 when I made this character, and in my youth I was working on becoming a better person, letting go of old ideals and introducing new, healthier ways of coping with life's struggles. Bjorn, The Brave: Bjorn never showed his back to the enemy, he wore thick black warpaint and plate armour, he believed in never giving quarter to his enemies and protecting his allies with his life, yet, he always had a very positive outlook on life, always looking on the brightside. I created Bjorn when I was 24, at the time I needed to be brave, Covid lockdowns started shortly after he was made and I ended up writing his story in isolation. my newest character, Shelby Wright, is a blacksmith, he uses leather armour, rather than plate, and gives wisdom and counsel to younger fighters who may have less experience in wearing, using or maintaining weapons and armour. I like to believe he's the culmination of those three men, and I'm very excited to see how his story pans out.
