Playing catchup just before winter is not ideal. There’s limited time in the day to get into the hives and do some final checks. The priority now is getting sites in the highlands all ticked off, so next week I’ll be back to visit the other sites further into the highlands, the colder areas are prioritised as the south coast etc are still hitting 17 degrees during the day. Only excess honey was harvested, the bees are doing fantastic. I was a bit worried some may have been lacking in nutrition, but hives were packed with healthy bees and have at least 20kgs of honey stores. Really looking forward to completing this season, it will be a short break before the bees are in full swing again. #beekeeping #musclehoney #bees
